It really does come down to common sense, doesn’t it? Think about it. Wouldn’t you be happier if you just followed this rule: Just ditch the diet, live light, and move around a bit. Think about how good you feel when you don’t judge yourself and just enjoy a day of fun – which may include enjoying meals with friends or family.

Instead of beating yourself up about every morsel of food you put in your mouth, why not “lighten up” and relax a little bit. First, take some time to figure out what you eat on a regular, daily basis (using an online tool such as “My Fitness Pal” works great for tracking this), and see what small changes you can begin making right away do just a little better. Baby steps.

Begin with that little step, beginning right now, and as you are tracking your food intake, you will probably begin to notice a pattern – maybe more than one – that you feel you would like to change. Consider the ways you can do so, and while you are pondering that, why not think about it while you are outdoors taking a brisk walk? We’re not talking miles. Maybe just a half a mile. Or a quarter mile if you aren’t used to walking. Something.

Again, baby steps. But you have to start somewhere. We will be back with a lot of information about this, so please come back. We are just getting this party started.
