Valley View Hot Springs, Villa Grove, CO

My wife and I recently went to the clothing-optional resort Valley View Hot Springs in Colorado. We have long enjoyed hot springs and the clothing-optional nature of these resorts. However, we were in for a very pleasant surprise at this more nudist than not resort.

As opposed to some other optional places, the bathrooms were all co-ed. Now, I'm what you might call a "nervous pee-er" not always able to accomplish the task in open urinals. However, something about the very open, everyone is there attitude kept this from being an issue. People of both sexes walking in and out without any "checking out" or nervous glancing about. I felt completely comfortable just doing my thing.

The pool and soaking tubs are wonderful. Again, most the people went with the optional attire of nothing at all, but covered in a towel or robe to walk about the grounds. Yet, either way was perfectly acceptable. While at the pool people responded to each other as if this was the natural state of life. Whether they were wearing suits or not, whether they were seating reading a book, splashing about in the water or just taking in some sun, there was no difference in the way people reacted to the other folks at the pool.

We were there for the first day of Summer and both of us received a number of hugs to welcome in the new season. Again, there was no sexuality attached to the hugs, even though there was no cloth to defend against the flesh on flesh touch. It's the first time I can remember hugging another man where our privates actually touched. Because it was a first for me, I think I was more aware of the proximity than he was, but even so, the situation wasn't uncomfortable in any way. Several of the hugs were to women of the opposite sex. Had we not been in such a relaxed environment, I think I would have found the contact enticing -again, at Valley View this wasn't even a thought.

I've heard stories of men having issues with the occasional erection, our private parts having minds of their own. This wasn't an issue. I certainly didn't have this problem and I didn't notice anyone else either. Although, I must say, given the relaxed atmosphere I wasn't really paying any attention to that sort of thing either.

The resort has a rule about overt sexual behavior, which suggests they understand it happens, but for those that might want some sexual congress (and my wife and I did) it is best to find some place private. After 10pm, the grounds are closed to day guests. Many of the soaking pools are remote and quiet. It was easy enough to find a place where the romantic stars and warm water could provide the right atmosphere, without the risk of offending anyone. The resort is also in a natural Rocky Mountain setting, so is also the surrounding forest if the urge is present. Again, while we found several opportunities to engage in more amorous activities, we never stumbled onto anyone else, nor felt we were overtly making other guests uncomfortable with our activities.

All in all, a wonderful experience. Highly Recommended!
