My making a living online dream is becoming a reality. The sense of accomplishment I've felt as I've mastered various bits of SBI is enormous! It's a feeling no amount of money can buy.

And seriously, while I do often work indoors - this is me working from my 'office' in the garden. It looks onto my fishpond and fountain where the birds come to play while I can watch them AND with the help of Sitesell earn on the internet.

Spreading to a global audience

I knew nothing about creating a website, or how to earn on the internet - and when I say nothing I mean exactly that. I'd only ever paid someone else to do it for me.

I started searching, surely if other people could learn to make a living on line, so could I? Well I fell for my fair share of internet gurus. And one was so persuasive he even got me to part with $777.00 before I realized his promises of support were about as non-existent as my money-making online skills.

More searching and one name kept coming to the fore: Ken Evoy and Sitesell (SBI). I couldn't believe that his price was way less than half of my previous 'little investment'... and that INCLUDED a year's hosting and the most amazing sounding bunch of tools.

Wow, talk about a steep learning curve. I knew zitch about keywords and how imperative they were when it came to money making online.

But by using Sitesell's amazing tools, I was soon sussing out what keywords would help me make a living online. Amazing and yet so simple.

Another SBI tool helped me figure out exactly what niche had the best potential to help me when it came to making a living online. And along the way - I was tapping into the SBI forums and meeting quite the most friendly and helpful people . Their generosity of spirit reflects Ken's attitude of "under promise and over deliver." I have to admit that through the first 3 months I kept thinking: "This is too good to be true, when do I get a whopping account for something I didn't read in the fine-print?" Like when is he going to say I've taken up too many megabytes of storage for my graphics or my pages? Fact is SBI has been the most incredible value-for-money investment, when it comes to helping me develop a money making online business.

Now remember I said I knew no html? Well I wasn't kidding. But no problem -SBI's simple block-building templates took care of all that. Easy peasy....all it took to create headlines, text links and insert graphics were just a few clicks of my mouse.

And if you're already experience in web-building, don't worry, SBI has that covered too. The templates are just here for us newbies.

And then when I'd created a page, SBI told me exactly where my page wasn't meeting the criteria of search engine spiders and told me how to correct them. Spiders were what would bring me visitors who would allow me to fulfill my dream of making a living online. And when I'd finished building each page Sitesell automatically let every major search engine know for me! I didn't have to try and do that manually.

Next came an amazing tool that helped me get links with other sites that have the same keywords as mine. And before I knew it I had all sorts of links coming in to my site.

Sitesell as helped me create an e.zine. A few click of the mouse, and out goes my e.zine to the 54 subscribers I've had sign up in the last 3 months.

My traffic stats were so easy to understand that even I could understand exactly what was going on with them. Traffic would be the lifeblood for making a living online.

It was easy to see that in April '08 alone (I only created my first page in December '07), I had:

4095 visitors of which 2065 were unique and they'd viewed a total of 10 259 pages.

Already, after 5 months I was averaging 136 visitors a day of which 68 were unique visitors!

The lower your Alexa ranking the more heavily the site is visited (e.g. Amazon is ranked at 14). Anything under 100 000 is considered good. Now I know an Alexa ranking isn't the be-all and end-all. But, nevertheless, the ditch-diets-live-light website started out with an Alexa ranking of over 4.7 million in December '07 and by April '08 it had fallen to 473,153.

Not bad for someone who started out knowing ziltch about building a website.
