Healthy Eating Guidelines

Healthy Eating Guidelines for many people mean 'what' is nutritionally healthy. Well that's a real minefield because in between all the controversial nutritional advice out there - who knows what is really really true?

But being a psychologist rather than a dietican - I'm going to leave those kind of debates up to those who are way more qualified than me to sort through that mess.

What I want to share with you are about healthy eating guidelines revolves around the psychology of eating.... like for example:

• what happens to the health of our eating habits when we restrict and deprive ourselves?

• what about emotional eating and our mental health?

• what about food phobias, food obsessions and pre-occupation and how do memories of food from our childhood color our eating choices now?

• how do we listen to our body and relay on it to provide us with it's own inherent healthy eating guidelines?

• what happens to our eating when we make carrots and carrot cake psychologically equal?

• and yes.... I'll also cover what I believe to be some food myths and share some of my own personal beliefs that inform my eating habits.

These are the kinds of healthy eating guidelines the ditch diets - live light website can help you with. Please come back to this page as I intend to keep adding to it.

Curious about why there are diet ads on my site when there is nothing body wise about them? Good!
