Dieting Fads

Dieting fads come and go... that's how you know they're fads because if they were really diets that worked then they'd still be around. It's time to ask - do diets really work?

Diets have been around since the 1830's, all that's really changed is that they're more spoken about now than ever before. All that's really changed is that there are an ever-increasing number of 'miracle cures' floating (fad diets) around. They promise much and deliver little in terms of what is sustainable.

  • Have you ever worried about swallowing diet pills, powders and potions - concerned that while they may help you lose weight, their ingredients may also be contributing to other health problems that you may not even be aware of yet? You know how so often these fad diet products cure one problem but are busy causing another (like the once upon a time miracle cure 'Ephedra') - but we only find out when they get pulled from the shelves.


  • If you're losing weight in the short term but losing health to toxic ingredients in the long run - it hasn't worked in fact it's helped you get unhealthier, not healthier as they promised.

  • Can you maintain whatever weight you lose without taking the pills or staying on some or other weight loss regime forever? If you can't, then I'm sorry, it hasn't worked, it's only helping you trapped in the clutches of the diet industry and fad dieting.


  • Can you go anywhere, be faced with any food and not overeat - not because you're exercising willpower, but because it food is no longer the center of your universe? If you're having to constantly worry about resisting 'temptation', it hasn't workedit's only fooled you into thinking it has.


  • If you've reached your goal weight - but now live in fear of the scale because you're now scared of regaining those pounds you've just lost -it hasn't worked it's just more fad dieting.

  • Have you found out what, and dealt with whatever was at the root of your eating? Because if you haven't, you may have temporarily cured the symptom (weight) but the cause is still lying in weight (pun intended) to jump back out at you and - it hasn't worked it's just yet another bit of fad dieting.

  • Have you reached a state of mind where an active lifestyle is fun and something to look forward to (or at least not dread)? If not, it's just a temporary fix - it hasn't worked but fad dieting has scored another victim.

  • Have you fallen more deeply in like with yourself - not just because you've lost weight, but because you're an amazing incredible Being who is fabulous no matter what? If not- it hasn't worked because that harsh inner critic will be back ruining your health should you gain even an ounce back and that's no way to live.


  • Are you making healthier choices not because you 'have to' but because you 'want to' ? If not it's another quick fix which will fail you because it hasn't worked you've just been conned by more fat dieting ideas.

  • Are your body and food something to enjoy , something you don't have to sneak around hiding? If not, I'm sorry, but it hasn't worked...at least not by my definition!

You see for 20 yearsI was conned by the diet industry into believing that for something to 'work' all it had to do was help me loose weight! Now I know better! Losing weight is the smallest part of the equation - and any old diet can help me achieve that!

 

I don't only want you to
lose physical weight.
I want you to lose
your
psychological weight too.
I don't want you thin...
I want you to enjoy your body.
