12 Powerful Diet Myths & Diet Cons that will change your life
Having researched diet myths and the diet cons of weight loss industry for the past 20 years, I can say with confidence that it's diet lies that keep us trapped in the clutches of diets and spending our hard-earned dollars on fad and bad diet products.
Diet lies abound but the one diet myth that leads to most others is this one:

broccoli + gym = thin = health.
What it should read is:
Body-wise eating + exercise fun + light thoughts + rest = FEELING VIBRANT, HAPPY AND HEALTHYWhen it comes to diet myths, here's what I know for sure: EVERY regulated diet that has 'weight loss' as its only goal, is just another fad diet! Gasp! Shock! Horror! Yes :) I know that's quite a claim to make...but read on dear reader and you'll discover information that will make you look at diets through completely new eyes.
Weight loss myths what you want to know.... It's difficult to know where to start discussing diet myths perpetuated by a deceitful weight loss industry because there are so many. Health myths that are sadly often bought into and perpetuated by much of the medical profession. Some of the least healthy diets have been created by medical doctors for heaven's sake! Diet cons are also supported by the fashion industry (they have a lot to gain when we weight cycle between our fats and thins). You know....those closets that are bulging with your 'thin,' 'medium' and 'fat' clothes. Diet lies are also pushed by the beauty industry. It has big bucks invested in us having a low self esteem - the lower our self-esteem, the more products we buy. The more we think we can cover up our perceived blemishes.

We have been terrorized by diet myths into believing that thinness is the be-all and the end-all. It isn't. Thiness doesn't automatically = beauty, health and happiness. I know that because when I was a gorgeous 23-year old goddess (I can see that now) I was desperately unhappy and felt ugly. Why do we diet? But um....! Isn't being skinny the whole point? Isn't that what will make me desirable, sexy and healthy? Well that's sure what diet myths would have us believe. I can just hear that loud howl of protest in your head. If a diet only promises weight loss (especially dieting fads) don't do it, even if it's free. Read these 10 absolutely no negotiable points a diet has to pass in order to qualify as a 'diet that works.' And yes, I know that may sound pretty extreme but don't stop reading just yet - this is going to get good. Now though, I know better. But I was so easily conned by all those wonderfully alluring and oh-so-gee-whizz-fantastically-easy-sounding diet adverts. Most of advertisers claims are easily refutable with just a little bit of logic. But then whoever said there was ever anything logical about my desire to be thin and beautiful...I already was! I just had such a distorted body image that I couldn't see it.
