Am I Overweight?
The first time I ever asked myself: "Am I overweight?" was when I was eleven. Even though I wasn't - the mirror told me I was.Until then I'd lived in a diet-free world - I never thought to contemplate the question: "am I fat". Little did I know how drastically my life was about to change from that day on! Little did I realize it was the moment in which the next 20 years of unhealthy diets started.

But here was the interesting thing... asking the "am I overweight" question only happened after I'd overheard a comment about my body. Before then it my body had just been a body. Until that moment, I'd never consciously realized that I had to ask those kinds of questions about it or judge it in any way. Those 6 little words I overheard were what triggered the next 20 years of asking myself that same question over and over, and whether I was thin or whether I was fat, I now realize, actually didn't make the slightest bit of difference to the 'yes' I always seemed to answer myself with. Now, 3 decades later, having spent almost as many years investigating non-dieting as I spent dieting - I've discovered some really fascinating things that have changed the way I answer the: "Am I overweight question."
Don't diet
I thought I could diet the 'am I overweight / am I fat' question away, but that turned out to be a vain hope. What I did discover though is that dieting only exacerbated my problems - it didn't make them any better. And then I discovered the secrets to living without dieting and wow......
